Dartz Prombron' Nagel armoured sportback

So, you want a 250km/h sportscar, a vehicle with which to tow your yacht, and an armoured car to keep baddies at bay? You'll need one of these then...

For once we're a little lost for words. It's hard to know quite what to make of the Dartz Prombron' Nagel, a kooky Russian contraption that's billed as "an armoured sportback made for hauling yachts".

The oddball Nagel is the result of a collaborative effort between Russian/Latvian niche manufacturer RussoBaltique (purveyor of a range of completely OTT cars, SUVs and trailers) and Sweden's Gray Design, best known for turning out ultra-luxury yachts and cruisers.

The Dartz Prombron' Nagel is unique, to say the least, because not only is at armour-plated to ward off the threat of nefarious types, it's also said to be capable of hitting 250km/h and towing a five-tonne yacht up to 15 metres in length – although probably not both at the same time.

What makes this sort of velocity and pulling possible is a 1471kW (2000 horsepower) powerplant, although the company has thus far released no technical specifics about the latter.

Despite its hulking girth, its makers say the Nagel is "no heavyweight Ivan Drago, as the sporting spirit is experienced through the specially created 2000hp engine inside."

The sinister looking vehicle's moniker is a tribute to Andrey Nagel who, along with co-driver Vadim Mikhailoff, won the Monte Carlo Rally way back in 1911 in a C24/55 Monaco RussoBalt (RussoBalt being the company from which Dartz Prombron' was derived).

The Nagel's chiselled bodywork was penned by Eduard Gray of Gray Design, and it's said to be built on the Dartz Prombron' platform "using the world's safest KAPSULA technology to ensure the greatest peace of mind for its passengers".

The company also boasts: "Like all Dartz cars, the armour makes it heavy enough ensure a smooth ride when towing yachts up to five tonnes in weight and up to 15m in length".

We've got nothing further to add. We're still gobsmacked...
