Toyota Motor Corporation has again advised its Australian customers that Toyota and Lexus vehicles sold in Australia are not affected by the latest round of safety recalls announced overseas.

The company has emphasised that the campaign only affects selected left-hand drive vehicles.

Those familiar to with the story will be remember Toyota's extensive 2010 campaign that saw some 1.7 million vehicles recalled as unintended acceleration issues were addressed. The latest campaign addresses floor carpet covers, plastic pads and all-weather floor mats specifically designed for LHD drive vehicles.

Toyota Australia and Lexus Australia have inspected its local vehicle range and confirmed that the conditions leading to the recall do not affect right hand drive vehicles (RHD) sold in Australia.
